take part in creating a Christmas miracle.

For anyone who is a regular at their local dog park, you know that, on some level, you become somewhat of a little family with the others who go there frequently. Claire and I have met amazing people at the park, some of whom are now considered to be some of our best friends. A few days ago, we met up with our friend Donna who told us that Sandy and her dog Shiloh lost their home in an electrical fire last week. Sandy is one of the regulars at the dog park who we met about a year ago when I found out that Shiloh is a retired therapy dog - Sandy gave us priceless advice during the testing process with The Delta Society. Anyway, Donna said that the American Red Cross put Sandy in a hotel for a few days which has helped, but she doesn't have anything for her and Shiloh except the clothes on her back. Sandy is a pet-sitter and the hotel is far away from her regular clients, so the cost of gas is getting expensive and she's not able to make it to some of her jobs. From what Donna said, Sandy is working with the insurance company who will hopefully cover some of the damages from the fire, but right now, Sandy is struggling to make ends meet. She doesn't have any family nearby, so Donna has been trying to get the word out there so that we can help Sandy during this time. I've added a link to Paypal on the left-hand sidebar in case anyone wants to donate. Every dollar will go directly to Sandy and Shiloh. If you can't donate, PLEASE post the link to this blog post on Facebook, Twitter, or your own blog - the more people who hear about this and spread the word will hopefully help us raise money to help Sandy. Thanks so much, everyone!
